It showed off the new Onyx Edition for the ascent, currently a trim level. In addition to announcing the price of the 2024 Ascent, Subaru has also released images of the vehicle. Aside from the new Onyx Edition trim, there aren’t many chances for the 2024 model year. According to Subaru, the Ascent’s starting price of $32,295 (plus a $1,125 destination and delivery fee) hasn’t changed for the 2018 model year.
Subaru’s active safety systems and headlights have been improved for the 2024 model year. The new Onyx model will have 20-inch wheels and black trim when it comes out in 2024.
Redesign of the Subaru Ascent for the Year 2024
There are a lot of creature comforts included with the new Onyx special edition, which is primarily a cosmetic package. The 2.4L turbocharged boxer-four engine powers the 2024 Ascent’s powertrain, while the vehicle’s towing capacity is rated at 5000 pounds. The Ascent’s infotainment system is a hit in terms of ease of use. Smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard, as are the touch and physical controls on the center console. It’s simple to see and get a hold of the system. Some reviewers wished heated rear seats and leather upholstery weren’t restricted to the highest grades, despite the car’s vast list of standard equipment. A 6.5-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, four USB ports, and Bluetooth are included as standard features. You get things like keyless entry and three-zone automated heating and air conditioning with the standard package.
Engine
Subaru’s unique all-wheel-drive system makes the Ascent ideal for family road excursions. There isn’t much in the way of acceleration, and it’s noisy when under stress, but it’s capable of towing an RV or a speedboat. The gearless message proved responsive and solid despite the Subaru’s continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), making our test ride noisy. The car’s throttle response seemed extremely abrupt when driving around town at moderate speeds.
You can also manage the transmission using paddle shifters located on the steering wheel. Thanks to the Subaru’s smooth ride, we have been protected from bumpy roads. Even though it had 20-inch wheels, it efficiently handled rough roads and absorbed heavy impacts. Wind and road noise were problems as we drove along the highway. Even though the Mazda CX-9 is more engaging to go, the Subaru’s spacious third row was quiet and comfortable. The light and precise steering provided a relaxing driving experience at higher speeds. No play or touchy feedback from the test vehicle’s brake pedal was evident.
Date and Price of the Subaru Ascent’s 2024 Release
Premium and Limited trims are both available in the new Onyx Edition, priced at $37,995. However, it adds auto-reverse braking, a hands-free liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and a push-button start to Premium’s standard amenities. This variant has a meaner look with its black-finish details, distinctive badging, and 20-inch black alloy wheels. When it comes to seating, the Onyx Edition offers seven seats encased in Subaru’s synthetic non-leather material called StarTex. The Onyx Edition does not come with eight cores, as is the case with some of the other Ascent models. The Onyx Edition has only one option package, which costs $2,200. A panoramic moonroof, in-dash navigation, and a retractable cargo cover are all part of the package.
To round out the lineup, the Premium costs $34,795; the Limited is $39.595, and the Touring is $42,545 (with destination charges). A standard feature on every Ascent model is Subaru EyeSight, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance. It also has steering-responsive LED headlights and high-beam assistance.
