2024 Subaru Forester Redesign, Color, Price

2024 Subaru Forester Redesign, Color, PriceThe Subaru Forester 2024 is a crossover SUV that fits like a cross-trainer. It’s a large, safe mid-size five-seat wagon with standard all-wheel-drive that competes with the Ford Bronco Sport, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V. The Wilderness trim level joins the base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring editions in the Subaru lineup. More grilles have been added to the front end, and some models come with complimentary automated emergency steering.

The Subaru Forester is an excellent SUV. It features reasonable gas mileage, good handling, and a relaxing ride. It’s also better at off-roading than the prevalence of compact SUVs. The Subaru Forester looks great on the inside. It boasts two rows of comfortable chairs and plenty of cargo room. Because it provides a more reasonable balance of quality and value than most of its class rivals, we designated the 2024 Subaru Forester a finalist in our Best Compact SUV for the Money category.

The Forester 2.5i has four trim levels: base, premium, limited, and tour. A tilting and telescoping steering reel with audio controls, a 4-speaker stereo with MP3 capabilities, a 4.3-inch color multi-function display, and a back backup camera are still included on the base models. Premium premium premium premium premium premium premium, a body-colored spoiler, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, reclining rear chairs, and 6-speaker audio system variants. The CVT powertrain and leather seating are standard on Limited variants. Limited Foresters come standard with heated front seats, a power liftgate, fog lights, a rear spoiler, and heated mirrors. The top-of-the-line Touring level adds a navigation system, dual-zone automatic temperature control, a heated steering wheel, push-button start, and 18-inch wheels to the Limited trim.

There are four no-cost color options for the base Forester, down from six last year. The colors in question are Crystal White Pearl, Cascade Green Silica, Horizon Blue Pearl, and Magnetite Gray Metallic. This trim no longer has Ice Silver Metallic or Crystal Black Silica. Still, the Premium, Limited, and Touring do, along with Autumn Green, Brilliant Bronze, Crimson Red Pearl, and Horizon Blue Pearl. Crystal Black, Crystal White, Ice Silver, Magnetite Gray, and Dark Blue Pearl are the only colors available on the Sport model. The new Wilderness largely mirrors the Sport’s options, with the addition of Autumn Green and the replacement of Dark Blue Pearl with Geyser Blue, a color only available on this trim. Sepia Bronze and Jasper Green are two metallics that have been discontinued this year. The two blue tones are our favorites, but the crimson red is also a great choice.

Interior

The Subaru Forester’s cabin is one of the roomiest in the compact SUV segment, and it’s well-built with high-quality materials. It isolates citizens from outside noise, and the new Wilderness boundary’s water-repellent fabric makes it an ideal companion on muddy outings. The Starlink infotainment system is straightforward because of its intuitive interface, which makes browsing menus a breeze. Though the images could be crisper, the touch screen responds adequately to inputs. A secondary production at the top of the dashboard shows information that isn’t the same as what’s on the touch screen, which may confuse some people at first.

The Forester has a seating capability of five passengers. Drivers will like Forester’s excellent visibility, and passengers will enjoy the large, quiet cabin. Both rows of chairs are spacious and comfortable, with ample headroom and legroom. Even if six-footers are in front, six-footers can sit in the rear. The doors open wide, making it simple to get in and out of the vehicle from either row. Few candidates in its class offer as much cargo space as this Subaru. The standard Forester has a cargo capacity of 28.9 cubic feet behind the back seats and 74.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. These figures are reduced to 26.9 cubic feet and 69.1 cubic feet, respectively, in all subsequent variants.

Engine

The 2024 Subaru Forester is powered by a 2.5-liter flat-4 that sends 182 horsepower to all four wheels through a CVT. The Forester weighs a little over 3,500 pounds, allowing it to accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in just eight seconds. The powertrain isn’t very exciting, but it’ll work hard for you if you’re prepared to overlook its noticeable noise. To get a turbocharged car that’s a little more exciting, you’ll have to buy an Outback or Ascent.

The ride and handling contribute to a more positive story. On whatever surface, the Forester brims with sharp and confident road sense, even when there’s no road at all. With 8.7 inches of ground clearance, good all-season tires, and an off-road mode on most versions that helps extract even more traction by adjusting the throttle, shift, and hill-descent controls, the Forester easily navigates most obstacles. The Wilderness models get a half-inch more ground clearance, as well as improved off-road angles, revised jump and damper tuning, and all-terrain tires in a package that should hold up well on the sometimes long slogs down rutted Forest Service roads (or trails) on the way to the best backcountry adventures.
