All-New Subaru Forester 2024 Availability, Colors, ConfigurationsThe Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 are choices in the compact crossover SUV sector, but Forester models have been beating them for a long time. The 2024 Forester is a popular compact crossover SUV in the United States, thanks to its reputation for dependability and the peace of mind that comes with all-wheel drive. Like its excellent ground support and traction in all weather conditions, the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated boxer four is simple to live with in traffic, thanks to a continuously variable transmission that makes this a fun and easy-to-drive car.

The Wilderness is the latest addition to the portfolio, which already comprises the standard, premium, and sport variants. Many variants now come with complimentary automated emergency steering and a revised grille design. Everything else about one of our best-rated family cars and a previous two-time Best Car to Buy winner has remained the same. The Touring models of the Forester have brown-butter leather seats, while the Sport models have a trim that looks like Fila.

All-New Subaru Forester 2024 Redesign

The exterior appearance of the 2024 Subaru Forester differs from that of the 2021 model. The Wilderness is a new trim level that joins the lineup. All-terrain tires, a forward-facing off-road camera, and water-repellent upholstery round out the impressive list of standard features on this 2018 Forester, making it the best choice for off-road adventures. Unlike any other Forester trim, the Wilderness can tow more than any different model. In addition to the new grille, bumpers, and headlights, the front end of the 2024 model has been changed. In addition, there are new wheel designs. All but the entry-level model now come standard with a panoramic sunroof, while gesture controls for the temperature control system are a possible option. Lighting in the cargo area and the new LED dome light (with off-delay) improve the interior lighting in the base trim. The braking system is upgraded with new 12.4-inch front brake discs for the Premium trim and gloss-black window moldings for the Touring trim.

The number of free color options for the base Forester has been reduced from last year’s six to four. Crystal White Pearl, Cascade Green, Horizon Blue, and Magnetite Gray Metallic are the colors in this collection. Crystal Black Silica is only available on the Premium, Limited, and Touring trims. In contrast, Ice Silver Metallic is only available on this trim, and the other embellishments no longer provide Crystal Black Silica or Crystal Black Silica. Crystal Black, Crystal White, Ice Silver, Gray, and Dark Blue Pearl are the only color options for the Sport model. The new Wilderness is nearly identical to the Sport, save for the addition of Autumn Green and the removal of Dark Blue Pearl. Among the colors that will no longer be available are Sepia Bronze and Jasper Green. Despite our preference for the two tones of blue, we also like the Crimson Red.

Interior

On the Subaru Forester SUV inside, you’ll find a well-built, spacious, and high-quality environment. The Forester’s attention to elements and commitment to building a safe crossover is reinforced by its large windows, which provide excellent vision. Subaru hasn’t forgotten about ergonomics either, placing all controls within easy reach of the driver in the dash’s curves and stitching. Even though the Subaru Forester isn’t equipped with the latest and greatest in driver-assist technology, we’re still pleased with what we get for our money.

Engine

The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and continuously variable automatic transmission remain standard in the 2024 Forester (CVT). When AWD as standard, the Forester went from 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds. Highways feel underpowered with the four-cylinder engine’s 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. It’s not designed to brand but rather to get you from point A to point B, and it succeeds admirably in that endeavor. The engine will scream if you put your foot flat on the accelerator, but that doesn’t translate into real-time acceleration.

The SUV’s driving dynamics are laid-back. The steering reaction is only adequate; it isn’t anything special. On the highway, Subaru claims to have fitted unique dampening material on the glass and cabin, and it appears to have a significant impact on reducing the sound of the wind. It’s a family car, so a softer suspension is expected, but Subaru might have done better with dampening. The SUV can handle minor bumps and craters on smooth roads, but it bottoms out quickly on more severe ones.

The release date and price of the Subaru 2024 Forester

The Subaru Forester’s base model costs $25,195 before the $1,125 destination charge. It starts at $28,195 for the Forester Premium and $29,765 for the Sport. For a base price of $31,895, the new Wilderness is the most affordable option, followed by the $32,820 MSRP for the Limited and $35,295 for the Touring. When you add all of the available options, the price of a fully equipped car goes up to $38,000, which isn’t too bad when you consider how much the base model costs.

Subaru unveiled the facelifted 2024 Forester to the rest of the world in June 2021 before announcing the model for the United States in September. The new 2024 Forester was scheduled to arrive in dealerships in the United States in October 2021, so it should be available.
